WOBCIC Network Membership

Your investment in how you lead, contribute, and influence.

The Women on Boards CIC® Network is a peer-led community for female entrepreneurs and SME leaders who are ready to step beyond day-to-day operations and into leadership, influence and board-level contribution.

It exists to help women understand how boards really work, how decisions are made, and how to contribute with authority, clarity and confidence.

At its core, this is a true peer community. A group of leaders learning from each other, sharing experience, and challenging thinking in a way that builds perspective over time without competition.

Grounded in the realities of SMEs and micro-businesses, the network reflects how governance operates in practice. Not as process alone, but as the structure that supports better decisions, resilience and long-term growth.

The programme combines online and in-person sessions to move from understanding into application.

  • Online sessions build knowledge across governance, strategy, finance and pathways into board roles.

  • In-person sessions bring participants around the table with experienced leaders to practise discussion, challenge and decision-making in real time.

Together, this creates a clear and practical pathway to develop board-level thinking, build confidence, and step into board opportunities. Equitable Governance™ sits at the centre, not as theory, but as a strategic advantage for SME leaders.

This is not a networking group, and it is not designed for occasional participation.

It is a considered community for those who are ready to contribute, influence and lead with intention together.

We are proud to be launching across the UK, including East Midlands, West Midlands, London and Manchester.

Join WOBCIC Network EAST MIDLANDS

Here are the details of the first East Midlands cohort.

In-person

Thinking → Applied Contribution

The 4 in-person sessions are where knowledge is tested, applied, and strengthened, with key guest speakers as delivery partners.

Each session is structured around a physical board table, with a senior business leader or key speaker seated within the group, not separate from it.

We are creating direct access to experience, insight, and challenge with participants expected to contribute, challenge and engage.

The sessions are not observational; they require active participation within a board-level environment.

The East Midlands In-person will all be held at PwC UK, East Midlands from 10am - 12pm.

Knowledge → Strategic Perspective

The 4 online sessions establish the core understanding required to operate at board level.

They are focused, practical, and designed to strengthen how participants think, question, and interpret decisions.

Here, participants develop a clear understanding of how governance operates within SMEs and the ability to think strategically rather than operationally.

The online sessions build on financial and performance information confidence, together with awareness of board role pathways and how to position for them.

All online sessions will be held on Zoom. (for East Midlands Cochort 1 only)
