Women on Boards CIC, Secretariat to the APPG on Equitable Governance

Women on Boards CIC (WOBCIC) serves as the Secretariat to the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Equitable Governance.

Our role is to provide the independent, operational backbone that enables the APPG to function effectively, compliantly, and with impact. We support Parliamentarians to convene cross-party and cross-sector dialogue on how equitable governance can strengthen SMEs, improve leadership decision-making, and contribute to sustainable economic growth.

What
the
Secretariat
does

As Secretariat, WOBCIC is responsible for the day-to-day operation and continuity of the APPG.

This includes:

  • Governance and compliance
Ensuring the APPG operates in line with Parliamentary rules, maintains accurate records, and meets all registration and reporting requirements.

  • Parliamentary coordination
Acting as the primary liaison between MPs, Peers, Parliamentary offices, and external contributors, and supporting the Chair and Officers with briefings and programme coordination.

  • Programme design and delivery
Developing and delivering the APPG work programme, including meetings, roundtables, and evidence sessions, with balanced representation from business, policy, academia, and civil society.

  • Evidence and policy support
Curating research, insight, and submissions to inform discussion and support the development of practical, decision-useful policy recommendations.

  • Stakeholder engagement
Convening contributors across sectors and regions, while safeguarding transparency, independence, and clarity around funding and participation.

  • Communications and continuity
Producing agendas, minutes, briefings, and outcome summaries, and maintaining institutional memory across Parliamentary cycles.

Why this matters

A strong Secretariat enables the APPG to move beyond discussion to delivery.

By providing structure, rigour, and continuity, WOBCIC helps ensure that cross-sector insight is translated into credible Parliamentary engagement and policy influence.

In acting as Secretariat, Women on Boards CIC does not set policy or political direction.

Our role is to enable informed debate, support evidence-led inquiry, and help the APPG on Equitable Governance operate with integrity, independence, and impact.
